Side Effects of Venom Hyperdrive
- Venom Hyperdrive contains cocoamine, phenylethylamine, caffeine, tyramine, octopamine and synephrines.
- A high caffeine intake, such as that obtained from taking supplements, can cause a fast heart rate, excessive urination, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, anxiety, depression, tremors and difficulty sleeping.
- Although tyramine is a naturally occurring amino acid in many foods, excess amounts can have serious side effects, especially when combined with drugs like monoamine oxidase inhibitors. When taken in combination with MAOIs, tyramine can cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure and may even trigger a stroke.
- A report published in September 2004 in Experimental Biology and Medicine says synephrine may have serious health side effects, including cardiovascular effects similar to ephedra. Reported side effects of ephedra include insomnia, nervousness, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, heart attack, seizure, stroke and death.
- The FDA issued a warning in January 2009 that the old version of Venom Hyperdrive contained sibutramine. Sibutramine, which was not listed on the label, is a Schedule IV controlled substance and is often addictive. According to the manufacturer, the newest version, Venom Hyperdrive 3.0, does not contain sibutramine.
