Heaton Park Is A Great Family Day Out
Heaton Park s a great place to visit in Manchester.
One of the nicest parks in Manchester to visit is Heaton Park.
It's huge and has lots of great activities for children and families.
Only four miles from the centre of Manchester it's perfectly located to make it easy for a day out.
It's easy to get too as well, being near the tram stop, and having great access by road.
You can even get there by bus too! It's got a golf course, fishing on the huge lake, crochet, bowls, space for football, as well as space for flying kites, riding bikes and running about! It's got lots of paths which make it easy for wheel chair and pram access, although some are a little steep.
There are animals in the Farm centre where children can see lots of amazing creatures from Alpacas, to rabbits, goats, chickens and outside in the fields there are donkeys too that the children can stroke! By prior arrangement you can even organise donkey rides for the kids too! There's a flock of sheep too, some cows, and there are Highland cattle too although these aren't as social as the other animals, they are amazing to look at.
You can even take part in orienteering course at Heaton Park too.
There are seven levels available so even if you're a beginner you can have a great day.
There are several different play areas within the park making it great for kids who just want to climb and play.
The main play area has a massive climbing structure that's fantastic for the kids to enjoy.
You'll find ice cream sellers around the park too, so it is wonderful on a hot day for relaxing and enjoying an ice cream whilst the kids run about.
Rowing is available on the lake or you can just feed the ducks! The entire park is a wonderful place to visit and the whole family will have a fun day out.
Entry to the park is free too.
