What Can Government Do That Would Help Small Business The Most - Get Out of the Way!
The other day, I was at Starbucks and I got into a dialogue and discussion, no, actually it was an argument, although it was very low tempered, and we were both on an even keel.
I was discussing the problems in our nation for our small business community, and one of the largest problems I cited as being The Obama Administration.
Obviously, this gentleman was an Obama supporter, although he did not come right out and say.
What he did say was; "what's the matter with you folks isn't anything Obama does good enough for you?" And then he cited the Small Business Administration upping their guarantees to 90% for the community banks, and the infusion of the TARP money to help get funding going for the small business community.
He also cited all the money being spent by the government for alternative energy ventures, and other sorts of industries.
And then he said "what about all the work that the bureaucracy is doing in Washington DC to eliminate over burdensome regulations to help small businesses, I suppose none of that is good enough for you, is it?" Okay so, I'd like to address his comments because; no, what the Obama Administration has done is not good enough, and it was a lot more show than go.
It was merely a political publicity points read from a Teleprompter with no action or follow-through behind it.
The small business community is tired of excuses, promises, and great speeches.
ObamaCare alone has caused a serious rift with the hiring of employees.
And threatening to tax any small business person that makes over $200,000 a year is absolute nonsense.
If they're going to tax the crap out of anyone that makes more than that, then why should they work hard in the first place, they could just go get a job with the government and a healthy pension, and not risk having a heart attack trying to deal with all the stress of running their small business, hiring people, and maintaining our economic engine for a strong recovery.
So, you're probably asking me to get off my high horse, and if I'm so smart, perhaps I have a better suggestion? Yes, I do, here's what I recommend; Have the government get out of the way, we'd be better off if they did nothing, than half of the stuff they are proposing.
Making available more credit for small businesses now is a joke because no small business wants to expand right now and go into even more debt, with an administration that runs the country as if it was a socialist nation.
These small time entrepreneurs would like to be left alone, with zero Interference.
Further, these small entrepreneurial business folks would like the government, especially at the federal level to stop giving the advantage to large corporations and their lobbyists.
Smalltime entrepreneurs don't want barriers to entry, more rules, and excessive regulation stopping their growth, or telling them they can't run their business their way.
They are tired of being overtaxed, harassed, and charged excessive fees, permits, and dealing with rules and regulations which do nothing more than create opportunities for lawyers to file lawsuits.
Of course, I suppose if president Obama had ever run a small company he'd know all this already.
I can't for the life of me believe I have to write an article to state the obvious.
It is absolutely beyond belief.
We don't need the Obama Administration to do anything, but lose this next election and get out of the way.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
