What Are the Signs of Infertility?

103 29
Unfortunately, infertility problems are present in too many women affecting almost 12% of those of child bearing age.
Some women may have perceivable signs of infertility, while most become aware of their predicament only when they plan to start a family.
The symptoms, as well as the core infertility problem, could vary from individual to individual.
Besides the physical aspects that define sterility, infertility is an emotional problem that will affect the marital partner as well.
Female Infertility It is important to know that during a monthly cycle, the woman's ovum is alive for not more than 48 hours.
The overall fertility period will be about a week because the sperm can remain alive within her body for four or five days.
With such a short fertility window, a year or more of unprotected sex is a must to eliminate the possibility of having missed that window and feel convinced that a woman has some difficulty in conceiving.
For infertility treatment a couple should first consult their regular physician and on his recommendations should consult a specialist.
Irregular menstruation is generally seen to be linked with infertility problems though it cannot be considered a sure sign of infertility.
Different things could lead to an erratic menstrual cycle and all of this may not be connected to an inability to conceive.
Both obesity and over-thinness are not conducive to conceiving.
Overweight people tend to have hormonal problems that can be a roadblock to getting pregnant, while those who are too skinny may have malnutrition problems that will become a barrier to easy pregnancy.
Other conditions that may warrant infertility treatment are substance abuse and alcoholism.
It is common knowledge and narcotics and alcohol ravage the human body both in the case of men and women.
When a woman is addicted to these, her body becomes unfit for proper implantation of a fertilized egg and the nurturing of it through the full term of a pregnancy.
Male Infertility Causes and signs of infertility are not something restricted to women.
Men are also rendered infertile in several ways.
Some men have a condition known as cryptorchidism, or undescended testicles, where the testicles remain inside the abdomen without moving down to the scrotum as it should.
Besides this congenital problem, wearing tight fitting clothes that will continuously press on genital organs may affect the fertility of a man.
Another factor that could promote infertility is exposure of the genitalia to too much heat.
Infertility Problems That Effect Both Sexes Certain infertility problems are common to both sexes.
For example, overweight, emaciation, alcoholism, and substance abuse are things that can stand in the way of consummation and conceiving in the case of men as well as women.
While these problems can make a woman unfit to continue with the pregnancy in the right way, in man these manifest in the form of weak sperms or a low sperm count.
Before a couple decides that they are in need of infertility treatment, they should first ensure they are not missing the woman's fertile period while having intercourse.
Ovulation kits are available that will help a woman to check her ovulation time by checking the body temperature.
By using it, she can make sure that they are having intercourse without missing her fertility opening.
Infertility Treatment needs to be considered only after they have ruled out the possibility of any mistake in timing the intercourse.
