How to Vent a Sewage Holding Tank

104 17
    • 1). Locate the tank's vent line inlet. You can find the inlet on the top of the tank. It usually has a plastic cover if it's not connected to a vent line. Remove this cover if it has one. You can identify the inlet usually because it's a nozzle-like connection; most have "Air" written on them.

    • 2). Connect a marine hose to the vent line inlet. Use the hose clamps to secure it in place. Tighten the clamp with a screwdriver until it is secured tightly in place.

    • 3). Run the hose as short, straight, and horizontal as possible. Run the end of the hose to a higher elevation than the tank's location, usually on the roof of the boat or RV.

    • 4). Secure the end of the hose with a hose clamp, attaching it to the roof or other ending location.
