- 1). Quit the Outlook Express application if it is currently running.
- 2). Open the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel."
- 3). Open the "Administrative Tools" folder and then double-click on the "Services" icon. A new window will open with a list of all the Windows services that are available on your computer.
- 4). Scroll through the list until you find the entry labeled "Protective Storage."
- 5). Double-click on the "Protective Storage" entry.
- 6). Click on the "Start" button at the bottom of the window and set the "Startup type" to automatic.
- 7). Press the "OK" button to save the settings. The Windows Protected Storage service will now run each time you boot your computer, and this will allow Outlook Express to save identity passwords.
