How to Build a Wooden Storage Shed
- 1). Cut four 6-foot 9-inch pieces from the 2x12s for the base under your shed. Leave two pieces at 7-foot.
- 2). Cut a 3 1/2x7-foot piece from each sheet of 3/4-inch plywood for the floor.
- 3). Use the six 2x12s and construct the frame for the floor on the leveled area. Nail two 6-foot 9-inch pieces on edge between the 7-foot pieces forming the 7-foot square frame. Equally space the remaining 6-foot 9-inch pieces inside the frame parallel to the 7-foot pieces for floor support and nail them in place.
- 4). Add the floor over the frame. Align the two cut pieces of 3/4-inch plywood over the frame so the 7-foot edges run perpendicular to the support beams. Nail them down to the frame.
- 5). Incorporate a 3-foot-wide by 7-foot-high opening for your door into one wall frame. Use two 2x4s together on both sides and across the top of the door frame.
- 6). Assemble two 7-foot square wall frames using 2x4s. Each frame includes two 7-foot pieces and two 6-foot 9-inch pieces. Next, cut and attach 6-foot 9-inch pieces of 2x4 for the vertical studs and space them 8 inches apart running parallel to the 7-foot pieces of the frame.
- 7). Assemble the other two 7-foot walls using the process in Step 6. They will be 6-foot 5-inches long because they fit between the walls built in the previous step.
- 8). Stand the walls up around the edges of the floor and nail them to the plywood base every 6 inches all the way around and to each other along where they meet every 4 inches from top to bottom.
- 9). Create the slope for the roof with a 7-foot 2x4. Nail it on edge across the top of the shed running in the center of the two walls so it is perpendicular to the wall with the door.

Cut sheets of 1/2-inch plywood to cover each side of the roof. Nail them from the top of the wall frames up to the 2x4 forming an A-frame. - 11
Cover the outside of all four walls with 1/2-inch plywood. Cut them appropriately and nail to the studs. - 12
Cut pieces of tin for both sides of the roof for added protection. Nail them in place. - 13
Cut doors to fit the doorway using 1/2-inch plywood. Hang your doors with heavy-duty hinges.
