Are You Happy With Your Business?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (and women, thank you very much!) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
" You have most likely heard those words dozens of times, but have you ever stopped to consider their relevance to your life and, specifically, your business? It's noteworthy that the founders of our country chose to include "the pursuit of happiness" as a birthright - not happiness itself, but its pursuit.
It seems our forefathers had the wisdom to realize that it is the journey, and not the destination, that is the true source of fulfillment.
So how's your pursuit? Are your days filled or mostly filled or even partly filled with things that move you closer to your definition of happiness? If you answered "yes" to at least one of the above, congratulations and keep up the good work! If you answered "no," then you'll need to evaluate a few things, which means asking and answering some tough questions.
Think about your active client list.
"Does everyone on it fit your ideal client profile? "If not, then why are they active clients? "Is your active client list too short to really be considered a list? (Ouch! I warned you they'd be hard.
) Take heart.
Remember the part about happiness being found in the journey? That means that fine tuning is an inherent part of the pursuit and not a sign of failure.
The solution to your challenge may be in clarifying your ideal client.
Or maybe the issue is related to your choice of marketing methods and channels.
It might take some serious soul searching to get your business firmly planted on the "pursuit" path, but it's worth the effort.
Whatever the obstacle, the good news is that you have been granted the unalienable right to spend a lifetime eliminating all that obstructs your pursuit - as long as you don't mess with anyone else's unalienables in the process!
