Hailed by CNN Destinations as "one of the most pleasant surprises on the Italian Riviera," Camogli is a small coastal village that looks onto the Ligurian Sea with the Portofino Mountains at its back. If visiting the quiet burg, look for accommodations well in advance as, the population usually doubles with the influx of tourists each summer. While "budget" is certainly subjective, Camogli offers several options for the economically-minded traveler. - For inexpensive lodgings where you feel as if at home, opt for one of Camogli's bed and breakfasts, such as La Gabbianella. Located a stone's throw from the train station, La Gabbianella offers double rooms for 70 euros per night, as of August 2010. Rooms are painted cheerful colors with homespun details. A buffet-style breakfast is included in the price.
