Keep your bedroom as clean as possible to prevent germs, allergens and clutter from taking over your personal space. Start from the top and work your way down--this method offers an efficient, basic cleaning technique that won't take much time out of your day. Follow this checklist weekly, and add extras such as windows or baseboards once a month for a truly clean bedroom. - Place all dirty laundry into a laundry basket. Remove the bedding if necessary and wash it while you clean the bedroom. Throw away trash and put away misplaced items and clothing into its respective area.
- Dust the entire bedroom. Start with ceiling fans and work your way around and down. Clean any glass, electronics, knick-knacks and furniture. Don't forget the phone, remote control, door knob and any other frequently used items.
- Vacuum the blinds, curtains and mattress with a brush attachment. Vacuum the floor or carpet from one end of the room to the other, including under the bed or furniture if possible. Use a nozzle attachment to clean the edges.
- Remove the trash from the bedroom and replace the trash bag if necessary. Colored or scented trash bags add a personalized touch to any room.
