Hair Transplant Success For Women

More and more women who suffer from hair loss are seeking answers about hair transplants lately since they want a long-term solution to their problem.
Women get tired of buying wigs to hide their thinning hair and bald patches.
On the other hand, men with male pattern baldness have been enjoying the results of hair transplant surgery for the past years and it's time for women to receive that same privilege.
Androgenic Alopecia is the condition that both sexes have when they suffer from baldness.
However the symptoms of each sex are very different.
90% of the male population who suffer from premature hair loss due to thinning and balding do so because of this medical condition.
Because of genetics, this condition is passed down through each generation either by the father's or mother's genes.
The cause of this condition was not known for years since genetic studies were not yet taken seriously and this genetic trait sometimes skipped a generation and all members of the family do not exhibit the same condition.
Sometimes, a father may have abundant hair growth while his sons would be bald or the other way around.
It is also possible that one brother shows complete baldness while the other brother still has hair on his entire head.
Men and women are affected in different ways by androgenic alopecia.
A man usually has a receding hair line or bald spot which is the reason why the common name for this condition is "Male Pattern Baldness.
" A woman, on the other hand, is expected to have hair thinning over the entire head.
Since a man will have a specific area of hair loss, there are still areas where hair is abundant, and the hair transplant procedure can be successful.
Good hair growth is most often located at the back of the head even if the top area is already completely bald.
The hair from the back area can be easily transplanted to the balding area and provide a natural-looking coverage.
In the case of women, they have no localized area of hair loss so it is often impossible to get a feasible donor site.
A balding woman will usually be losing hair on her entire head.
This is the reason why the classic procedure of hair transplant is impractical.
Wherever the hair is removed from a woman's head, it will just make the harvested part appear balder.
Here's an interesting news flash though: the development of a new technique that allows the transplant of hairs from the other areas of the body into the scalp of the head has completely changed the hair transplant procedure.
This new technique is more helpful and gives real hope for women with problems in baldness.
