Cat-in-the-Hat Decorated Pumpkin
Check out this photo of a Cat-in-the-Hat pumpkin, submitted by Brenda Slosek.
From Brenda, "This pumpkin was made with my daughter Emily (6 years old) for a pumpkin decorating contest at her annual book fair at school. It is Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat made using a crook neck pumpkin. We thought of this idea by ourselves. The shape of the pumpkin was perfect. We used white spray paint to paint the whole pumpkin, then we painted red stripes with red craft paint. We then painted the back and sides of the head black.
We glued store bought eyes on and painted the nose and mouth. We used pieces of a broom to make whiskers. The brim of the hat is just a thick felt ring painted using the white spray paint. The black felt ears were cut out and glued on."

After you carve or decorate your pumpkin, take a moment to snap a picture of it and then submit it. Then, you can take some time and browse through my other Halloween articles and find many Halloween crafts, games, recipes, and other activities.
