Gould Welcome Center at New York University

Washington Square
Located at the heart of NYU's urban campus, the iconic Washington Square is an important fixture of university life. At the center of this public park stands Washington Arch, an 1892 structure built to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration. NYU uses the square for commencement ceremonies and other university-wide activities and events. Most of the buildings surrounding the square are owned by the university.
Kimmel Center for University Life at NYU
The Kimmel Center for University Life, centrally located on the south side of Washington Square Park, is the heart of student activity at NYU. The facility provides versatile reservable workspaces for student organizations as well as department meetings or events. The Kimmel Center also offers a variety of student resources, including computer labs, dining facilities, student lounges, and outdoor terraces.
Pless Hall at New York University
Pless Hall is a multi-use building at the corner of Washington Place and Washington Square East. It houses conference and meeting rooms and student lounges that can be reserved for student and faculty activities and events. The building has also garnered some celebrity in recent years as a movie set; parts of the building were used in the 2010 adventure film The Sorcerer's Apprentice and the 2011 drama Remember Me.
Stern School of Business at NYU
More than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students make up NYU's Stern School of Business, which is housed in this state-of-the-art facility opened in 1992. The school boasts three Nobel Prize winners active on its faculty as well as more than 500 alumni currently employed as CEOs for top national and international firms.
Vanderbilt Hall at New York University
Vanderbilt Hall serves as the nexus of the university's prestigious law school. The New York University School of Law has a rich history, notably one of the first law schools to admit women and minority students. The competitive program offers a variety of areas of focus and several joint degree programs with other top law schools, including Harvard University and Princeton University.

The Silver Center, an office and academic building located near the center of campus, was constructed in 1894, replacing the original University Building at Washington Square East. It was known simply as the "Main Building" until 2002, when it was renamed in honor of NYU alumnus Julius Silver, a leading corporate attorney and philanthropist whose bequests to the university made possible the Silver Professorships in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at NYU
Since its opening in 2003, NYU's 860-seat Skirball Center for the Performing Arts has been widely recognized as one of the premier performance spaces in lower Manhattan. The Skirball Center offers a variety of cultural and artistic events open to the general public as well as providing a quality performance facility for the university's prestigious Department of Music and Performing Arts, which consists of over 1,600 students majoring in music technology, music business, music composition, film scoring, music performance practices, performing arts therapies, and performing arts education.
Weinstein Residence Hall at NYU
Weinstein Hall, located just a block up from the main campus area surrounding Washington Square, is home to nearly 600 first-year residents. It is a part of NYU's First Year Residential Experience, a program that fosters first-year student participation in both academic and social life in the university's seven first-year student residence halls.

Goddard Hall, another of NYU's housing options for first-year students, is the home of the Goddard Residential College, a community of 200 students dedicated to citizen engagement and social action. Each resident chooses to participate in one of six "streams," smaller student groups built around themes such as "Poverty & Affluence," "Writing New York" and "All the World's a Stage." The streams organize events and activities related to their theme for the campus and surrounding community.

This renovated townhouse on Washington Square Park houses The Straus Institute for the Advanced Study of Law & Justice, The Tikvah Center for Law & Jewish Civilization, The Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice, and the Doctor of Juridicial Science Program. It includes classrooms and offices, meeting spaces, student work areas and lounges. 22 Washington also features a unique vertical garden in one of its outdoor courtyards, earning the building LEED Silver Designation from the U.S.
Green Council for its carbon footprint offset.
