How to Make African Hair Twists in My Own Hair
- 1). Begin at the back of the head and work in small sections, using the tail of the rat-tail comb to make even parts. Use hair clips to hold hair that's not currently being styled out of the way.
- 2). Take a section of hair and comb any tangles out with a wide-tooth comb. Apply the styling product of your choice. This may be natural oils, lightweight gels or styling mousse.
- 3). Divide this section into two equal parts.
- 4). Start at the root of the hair and twist these two smaller sections around each other all the way to the end. Gel will help hold the ends in place if the hair isn't coily enough to stay secure on its own.
- 5). Move on to more sections of the hair to comb, apply product and twist, to cover the entire head.
