Basic Pretreatment

• 1). Mix two parts water, two parts ammonia and one part laundry detergent in a bottle.
  
  
• 2). Apply enough of the pretreatment solution to the collar to saturate it. Brush the collar with a soft-bristled brush to loosen the soil.
  
  
• 3). Wash the shirt according to the care instructions on the label.
  
  

Bleaching Pretreatment

• 1). Dampen the shirt collar with water.
  
  
• 2). Pour enough hydrogen peroxide and ammonia onto the collar to saturate it and allow it to sit for 2 minutes.
  
  
• 3). Rinse the shirt collar with water to remove the peroxide and ammonia.
  
  
• 4). Apply white vinegar to the shirt collar and wash the shirt according to the care label instructions.
