HOME SELF PROTECTION
You should be safe in your own home!
There is no where else that you should feel safest than in your own home yet many women get raped or assaulted in their homes.
Here is a little story about my personal life that I would like to share. I have a dirt modified race car that I have raced on the weekends for about 15 years, the first 13 years my wife has been by my side at the races. However all the years in the dirt she is getting tired of it and is staying home more, thank god she still supports my racing.
One morning after the races I saw a can of bug spray by the back door and thought nothing of it, the can was back under the cabinet the next day. After the races the following weekend the can of bug spray was back by the back door and I asked her what she was doing with it. She said that she was scared someone would get her when she let our dog out and she was using it to protect herself as some form of Pepper Spray. I thought this was funny that she even thought of using bug spray as a form of protection. The real funny thing is that I started selling Self Defense products about a year ago and we didn't even have some of these products "Pepper Sprays, Stun Guns" our selves. I didn't even think that we would need these items until the bug spray incident.
I am quite sure that the many women that have been raped or assaulted in their homes never thought they would need protection in their homes either.
Here are some ideas that could help:
Don't wait until something has happened before deciding on a plan on what to do if someone tries to enter your home.
You could keep a Stun Gun or Pepper Spray by the doors for easy access.
In case you are waiting for your order of Pepper Spray to come in you could use household items, bug sprays or cleaners such as my wife did, or a can of carburetor cleaner you can get from your local automotive store. I can attest to the carburetor cleaner as I once was an auto technician and have accidentally sprayed my own eyes and it does burn to where all you want to do is close them.
I can not recommend the carburetor cleaner or bug sprays because they could leave permanent damage to the eyes, but the way I see it the criminals would not think twice about harming or even killing you, so I say oh well, its either them or you.
Just make sure you keep your Self Defense items up out of reach of children and loved ones. If you do have children you should also have child proof locks on your cabinets where you store the bug sprays and cleaners.
