One day as I was at the local mall with my girlfriends son we decided to walk into one of the little stores. This store focused an array of these that had nothing in common. I say this becasue they were selling paintings, couches, bar stools and scooters. They had electric scooters and gas powered scooters. Since the owner was asian and his family was working there as well I began to see the relationship. In Asia there is a lot of electric bikes and alternative means of transportation, you know scooters, gas and electric, pedal cabs and stuff like this. What was cool was the fact that inside this store was the latest bikes and scooters.

As we looked areound the shop Jr. headed straight for a particular item I knew he would ask for. As he tucked his DS in his pocket he started studying this little electric dirtbike called the Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross. I have to say it looked like a lot of fun to have and man is this thing a far cry from the battery powered stuff I had as a kid.

The store owners son, in his acne filled teen aged years, came over to talk to us and he looked like he knew what he was talking about. He told us how the bike is perfect for someone jr.s age and that adults buy these as well. Not just to ride around in but as toys. Even though this bike is reccomended for kids 16 and up some people buy them for younger kids. Jr. Is only 10 and can barely ride a regular bike. So I know his mom isn't gonna go for this thing. However, I listened to the kid talk more about the bike. This electric motocross bike travels at 17 mph and can more than handle bumpy terrain. Also, it can cruise at 10 miles an hour on a single charge which can last about 40 minutes.

Unlike gas powered bikes this one is quiet which is nioce and the suspension is smooth because of the kind of shocks it has. I thought well for the price, which is pretty cheap, ($400.00 with free shipping)compared to the gas alternatives you can't go wrong. The bike requires an 8 hr charge. I told store owner that it was pretty nice and jr. slowly slide off the bike and mentioned his birthday was in the summer. I told him maybe. He didn't seem excited about it so I knew he wouldn't forget. I wouldn't forget either because they had adult sized battery powered mountain bikes and they looked like fun to me as well.
