Will Brightness Affect the Battery of My iPod nano?

104 21

    Auto-Brightness

    • Go to your nano's settings, select "Brightness" and set auto-brightness to "On." This setting senses the light around the nano and adjusts accordingly. Sometimes the automatic adjustments will take several seconds. If you have good vision and don't mind a low brightness setting, you can specify an always low the brightness setting.

    Backlight

    • Navigate to the "Backlight" part of the settings and make sure that "Always on" is turned off. Keeping the backlight on all the time runs your battery down more quickly. The backlight will now turn off whenever the iPod nano has no music playing and has had no buttons or screen touched for several seconds. To keep the backlight on, tap the screen or a button occasionally.

    Lock

    • Lock your iPod nano when it's off and in your pocket or a bag. Bumping it on accidentally will run down the battery. The lock button is on the top, and when it's flipped to "Lock," you'll see a small orange or white patch depending on your iPod nano's generation. You'll need to unlock the device again before you can use it.

    Long-Term Battery Life

    • Keep your iPod nano out of any hot places, such as a car in the summer. That heat damages the battery and will decrease the battery life. Cold can also damage the battery. If you carry it in your pocket during extremely cold weather, get a cover for it that can help insulate it and protect the battery.
