How to Save a Green Bean Seed
- 1). Leave four or five green bean pods on the plants once the growing season ends. Allow the pods to dry naturally.
- 2). Remove the bean pods from the plant once they appear brown. The beans will be loose inside and they will make a rattling sound.
- 3). Remove the bean seeds from the pods. Split the pods open with your fingers.
- 4). Allow them to dry for two more weeks indoors in a cool and dry location.
- 5). Place the green bean seeds into an envelope or an airtight glass jar. Seal the envelope or jar and store it in a cool and dry location. The best temperature range for storing the seeds is between 32 and 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
