How to Reinstall iTunes & Install iPod Software
- 1). Go to the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel."
- 2). Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon to open the software management utility.
- 3). Scroll down to the iTunes icon and click on it to highlight.
- 4). Click on the "Remove" button to launch the Installation Wizard.
- 5). Follow the easy step-by-step instructions of the Wizard to completely uninstall the software from your hard drive.
- 6). Reboot your computer.
- 1). Go to the Apple website (see link in the References section) to download the current version of iTunes.
- 2). Click on the "Download Now" button in the left section of the webpage to save the installation file to your computer.
- 3). Click on "Save" in the generated confirmation window, browse to the location where you want to save the file and double-click it to begin the download. Remember the location of the saved file on your hard drive.
- 4). Double-click the saved file to launch the Installation Wizard.
- 5). Follow the easy guidelines to complete installation of the iTunes software to your computer.
- 1). Connect your iPod to the computer using the included USB cable. The iTunes application will be launched automatically upon connection.
- 2). Click on the "Register iPod" button in the main window of the iTunes application.
- 3). Fill out your information on the next screens such as name, date of birth, gender and email address. After the registration is complete you will be prompted to create an account with iTunes store, where you can find software for your iPod, some of which comes at no charge. Click "OK" to begin creating your new iTunes store account.
- 4). Fill out the information necessary to create your iTunes store account on the following screens and then click "OK" to finish. Keep in mind that iTunes will ask for a credit card during this process. Nothing will be charged unless you make an authorized purchase and the card will be simply kept on file until then.
- 5). Browse through the available software applications for your iPod, click on the one you want to install and proceed to download. Your credit card will be billed for the purchase if the application is not free.
- 6). Click on your iPod's name in the left section of the iTunes window once the desired application is downloaded.
- 7). Click on the "Sync" button in the bottom-right portion of the window to begin copying software to the iPod. Disconnect the player from your computer once syncing is complete.
