How to Enable MS Automatic Updates
- 1). Click "Start." Type "Update" into the search box and press "Enter."
- 2). Click "Windows Update" in the list of search results.
- 3). Click "Change Settings." Click an option in the "Important Updates" drop-down menu. You can choose to install updates automatically, manually install updates after Windows downloads them automatically or manually choose to download and install updates. Use the drop-down menus to choose when Windows checks for updates.
- 4). Check the box under "Recommended Updates" if you want the "Important Update" behavior to apply to recommend Windows updates as well. You may also choose to allow all user accounts on your computer to install Windows updates and you can enable notifications of Windows updates by checking the bottom two boxes. Click "OK" to save your changes.
