How to Find Bloggers to Endorse Your Product
- 1). Begin with a search for bloggers who focus on the type of product or services you offer. Use an Internet search engine to search for various keywords that pertain to your topic. For example, if your product is soft drinks, search "soda," "soft drinks," "cola," "carbonated beverages" and any other keywords you can think of. When you get your results, scroll through the top hits, but also make sure to scroll through the hits in later pages. Visit the sites that refer to these keywords to see which ones may write regularly about your topic. You may find out what the blog is meant to be about by reading their "About" page, or by looking at the subheading.
- 2). Make a list of the top 10 or 20 blogs that pertain to your topic and jot down any notes about the blogger's subject matter. Is it kitschy, sassy, newsy or serious? Write down what type of feeling you get from the blog -- this will give you an idea if the blogger's tone fits with your own product's style.
- 3). Read several blog posts from the bloggers on your list, and pay close attention to the comments that other users make. This will also give you great insight into the types of people reading the blog -- and it may also lead you to other blogs that write about similar things. If it does, follow those commenters' links to check out their blogs, and add them to your list if they fit your needs.
- 4). Make a few comments on the blogs that you're most interested in partnering with, and provide a link to your website in the comments. This will alert the bloggers to your presence and let them know you're interested in what they have to say.
- 5). Check the "blogroll" or "links" section of your most promising blogs to see what other bloggers a particular blogger is associated with. This may lead to other blogs that have a larger following or a content area more closely aligned with your own.
- 6). Visit the "Contact" section of the blog, to obtain an email address or telephone number for the blogger. Then email or call them to ask if she is interested in endorsing your product, or writing a review of it to post on her blog. In most cases, you'll need to offer either free product or a payout in order for her to agree to the deal. You may be able to sweeten the deal by offering linkbacks (where you put a link to their site on your site, and vice versa) or an article about the blog on your website.
