What ioSafe Is:
ioSafe is basically a hard drive in a vault. ioSafe is designed to be "fireproof" and "waterproof" to protect your stored files from damage in case of a disaster. Most of us now take the time to backup our images to external hard drives but have you planned for a house fire or a flood? What about a hurricane? ioSafe encases the hard drive in armor plating and insulation to ensure that the data is safe.
To see the drive withstand fire, water, and even a backhoe you can visit the ioioSafe website and pick any of several videos captured at the CES demonstration.
How You Get Your Data Back:
After a disaster you can use the ioSafe disaster recovery service (included for 1 year with purchase of the ioSafe) to recover the information off the hard drive. If you are handy with computers you can also capture the data yourself by removing the hard drive from the casing and plugging it in to a reader.
