    Noah's Ark

    • The story of Noah's Ark, which is found in Genesis 6 through 9, discusses how disappointed God was in humanity and how he rewarded Noah for his faith. God told Noah He was going to flood the Earth, but He also told Noah how to save himself, his family and every type of animal by building a massive boat, or ark. One craft idea associated with this story is to build an ark. You and the children can use your imaginations and build a model with as few supplies as a paper plate, scissors, glue, markers and images of animals as described at dltk-bible.com/mrockark.html.

    Moses And The Red Sea

    • Moses led the Israelites, who were being chased by the Egyptians, from Egypt to Canaan (Exodus 12:37). It was a dangerous journey, and the Israelites were afraid. The Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptians. Moses told them not to fear; the Lord would take care of them. God instructed Moses to raise "thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea" (Exodus 14:16). Thus, the Red Sea was parted, and the Israelites were safe. Children may enjoy a craft that shows Moses parting the Red Sea. Jacob's Bowl

    • Jacob and Esau were twin brothers. In Genesis 25, we learn about a night when Esau was incredibly hungry and foolishly traded his birthright to his conniving brother for a bowl of soup. Thus, Esau lost his share of the family home, blessing and his relationship with his brother. Esau's refusal to look beyond his immediate needs and take responsibility for his actions led to his downfall. Some children may understand the moral of the story, but most will enjoy making a bowl of clay as detailed at www.dltk-bible.com/crafts/mbowl.htm.

    The Story of Creation

    • The story of creation, found in Genesis 1:1, details how God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. It includes the creation of light, the sky, the oceans, days and nights, the sun, moon and stars and all living things, including Adam and Eve. Craft projects that focus on the story of creation can be small to accommodate short attention spans, such as the creation mobile at dltk-bible.com/genesis/creation_mobile.htm or larger group projects, such as the creation wheel craft at toddler-activities-at-home.com/creation-craft.html, that are more detailed.
