Maintaining Fuel Efficiency

• The Environmental Protection Agency stated state 2002 Kia Optima SE had an estimated fuel efficiency of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The owner's manual recommended replacement of the air filter at 60,000 miles in order to maintain fuel efficiency. Kia also recommended replacing the oil filter during each oil change.
  
  

Replacing Fluid

• The owner's manual recommended the first replacement of the manual or automatic transmission fluid and crank case fluid at 60,000 miles for optimal gearing lubrication. The manual further recommends replacement of the transmission fluids every 60,000 miles thereafter.
