Chateau Latour in Bordeaux, France
Chateau Latour was designated as one of "first growths" (premier crus) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. At that time, brokers from around the world ranked the Bordeaux vineyards by reputation and trading price. The only change in this 1855 designation was the reclassification of the Chateau Mouton Rothschild vineyard from a second growth to a first growth in 1973. Like most of the "first growth" vineyards, Chateau Latour is in the Medoc region of Bordeaux.
