Privatization of Space, NASA and the Future
If outer space retains the ability to be privatized, there might be even more problems brewing.Yes but the governments of the world and many of their leaders are rulers who seek the ultimate powers, so Privatization of space does seem very viable considering those other issues? Free markets solve problems; governments, well, they create them.
Not that I am at all against privatizing the space race.
Have you ever run a business? If government waits until everything is perfect to do something, then it will never happen, thus, where we are now, unacceptable, space takes risks.
Risk is not evil, but Hesitation, Procrastination, Bureaucracy, blame games, legal strangle holds, well they are evil.
NASA has too many politically correct folks in its operations and I side with Burt Rutan on this issue, he is totally correct.
NASA should have funding, lots of it, but free-enterprise is so much more efficient, that is why the government contracts with free-enterprise to get things done, because they just can't without the free market mechanism.
NASA will suffer losses of shuttles, as these birds are really old now.
These losses are acceptable and the loss ratio is 3 times less than they expected when they chose to build these shuttles, the real problem is the media and the weak minded humans that we vote into office to lead, they have no vision, no perseverance and lack of intellects.
The Forward Progression assumes risks, so minimize the risk and go anyway.
Let the politicians do their job and let the "human +" superstars of humanity and explorers by nature do theirs.
We need forward progression to win - it is worth the risk.
NASA needs an Upgrade.
The UN needs an upgrade, The US needs an upgrade and the human race is ready for that upgrade - Now! Competition is good for getting to best efforts and NASA needs some.
Let them compete, just like our education needs some competition now.
Weakness is not a human trait, the weak were not our ancestors, the weak died prior to procreation, those here today have ancestry due to natural selection and survival of the fittest evolutionary truths.
NASA should be in that boat, it's the strategy that will make it down the river afloat.
Only the media and public opinion can kill NASA, but if the people are behind them, the power is behind them, then the money is behind them, if they can perform.
Wow it sounds like the person posing the question may have beeen reading some of Ben Bova's Excellent "Sci Fi Novels" and I met him at the Tucson Columbia University Biosphere II Observatory for a talk once, you should have been there, you would have loved it.
