How to Liven Up a Relationship
- 1). Go on vacation. Even if your version of vacation is booking a hotel for the weekend 20 miles outside of your neighborhood, get some alone time and plan a weekend where the two of you enjoy all the amenities and luxuries of not having any plans. It can get a little draining to dedicate each of your weekends to work projects, dinner parties and kids' birthday events. Give yourself a little alone time just to enjoy each other's company.
- 2). Play games. Whether you play naughty or nice, pull out some of your favorite board games, challenge each other and reward the winner with kisses, massages and more. Turn an innocent game of Go Fish into a risque game where the loser must remove an article of clothing for the lost round.
- 3). Change identities for the night and role play. Instead of Friday night dinner at your favorite pizza spot, change locations and personas by going to a new hot spot and acting as if you don't know each other. Have a few drinks at the bar, bantering flirtatiously back and forth and creating an imaginary storyline that builds excitement throughout the night.
- 4). Do something bad -- or at least something you wouldn't normally do. Sure you and your honey could take over the men's stall at the pub one night, but you don't have to be quite that drastic to have a good time. Do something that you two would completely never do, such as taking a dance class or going to an amusement park, and bond over your crazy experiences.
- 5). Switch partners with your favorite couple. When your relationship needs more repair than romance, get the best of both worlds by stepping into someone else's shoes. Partner with one of your favorite couples to switch partners for the day, allowing everyone a chance to get a sampling of how it is to be without your mate. When you spend all of your time complaining that he leaves the top off the toothpaste, a drop of milk in the refrigerator and the toilet seat up, see how much fun it is when you borrow your best friend's guy. Notice how much you miss your guy when your gal pal's man would much rather you make him a snack for the big game than run errands with you like your guy does.
