Boston Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days
Four times this year, Boston residents are welcome to safely dispose of all hazardous material they may have lying around their homes when the city hosts its waste drop-off days. In 2011, these days will be:
May 7, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
University of Massachusetts-Boston Harbor Campus, Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester
June 25, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
West Roxbury Public Works Yard, 315 Gardner St, West Roxbury
October 29, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
University of Massachusetts-Boston Harbor Campus, Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester
November 19, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
West Roxbury Public Works Yard , 315 Gardner St, West Roxbury
There are dozens of hazardous materials that are allowed to be dropped off, however, TVs and computer monitors will not be accepted. The city asks that residents schedule a special pickup for these items in addition to air conditioners, refrigerators, water coolers, and dehumidifiers.
See the city’s official flyer for a complete list of what will and will not be accepted.
The drop-off is for city residents only, and proof of residency will be required. For more information, call 617-635-4500.
