Compress with the PDF Optimizer

• 1). Open the desired file in Adobe Acrobat.
  
  
• 2). Go to the "File" menu and select "Save As".
  
  
• 3). Click the "Format" pull-down menu and select "Adobe PDF Files, Optimized". Click the "Settings" button.
  
  
• 4). Go to the menu on the left side of the "PDF Optimizer" window and select "Clean Up". Adjust the Clean Up settings, if desired. The default settings are fine for most uses.
  
  
• 5). Press "OK" and press "Save".
  
  

Compress with the "Reduce File Size" Option

• 1). Click the "Document" menu with the file open in Acrobat and select "Reduce File Size".
  
  
• 2). Adjust the Acrobat Version Compatibility using the pull-down menu. You reduce the file size by making the file compatible with only the more recent versions of Acrobat.
  
  
• 3). Press "OK" and press "Save".
