How to Change the Security on an Acrobat Document

    • 1). Launch Adobe Acrobat on your computer. Open the Adobe Acrobat document which you want to make security setting changes to.

    • 2). Click on the "Secure" button from the toolbar at the top of the screen. It has a padlock icon.

    • 3). Choose "Password Security" if you want to change the password security on the document. Options include "Require a password to open the document" as well as requiring a password to edit, print and change future security settings.

    • 4). Look under "Permissions" to change security settings for editing and printing.

    • 5). Click "OK" to apply the changes that you have made.

    • 6). Select the "Secure" button from the toolbar again to remove security settings from the document. Choose "Remove Security" from the menu and click "OK" to confirm your selection. Save your changes.
