Buyer Beware-Top Tips From An Internet Marketing Newbie

105 32
By way of introduction I started working in internet marketing and advertising a few months ago. While my memory is fresh and before I have sensory overload from all directions, I felt it was important for me to share my internet experiences from the last few months simply as a means of educating and informing other persons who may find themselves in a similar position to me i.e. starting off on the internet.

You would not believe the number of internet businesses I have subscribed to; some of which proved nothing more than glorified sales pitches with very little behind. Hindsight is a great thing and I feel some of what appeared great at the time has very little value unless I throw alot of time and effort behind it. A good product to market and advertise should make your work a great deal easier. I would therefore recommend searching the internet for information on a particular program to find out what the real feeling is out there, whether people got stung etc.

Again be wary of others who are simply promoting the program themselves through affiliate links. Of course they are going to have full praise for the program in question. My advice, keep looking and then make a decision. I was fooled by these €once off offers€ that would never be repeated and prices going up within a certain timeframe if I did not act. I was sucked in every step of the way.
I would recommend concentrating on at most 2 programs and giving a best shot at getting these programs to work for you. I got distracted and joined new programs before committing to the other programs first. I then found myself totally overwhelmed and unable to do anything right. I remain optimistic however and plan to read my vast library of information some day and put it to good use!

What I would also urge caution on is subscribing to a program with recurring monthly fees. It is fine if you are totally happy with a program but it can be easy to forget that there are ongoing fees until a debit is shown on your account.

I also subscribed to some plug and profit sites and being a total newbie struggled with the setup. What I assumed would take a brief set up, I found myself having to search for help on instructions and even when all the parts were installed getting everything to link up was real hard work for me.

Regarding purchasing traffic particularly targeted traffic, I got badly burned buying maximum traffic to a site I was involved with and the worst part was that my trafficking work could not be measured versus the traffic being supplied over a number of months so I never knew how effective or ineffective my advertising and marketing campaigns were. I would recommend starting small with a paid traffic management program and testing the waters and seeing what works best and take things from there.

Remember you will always be given the sales pitch and it can really sound good to a novice. I would recommend holding off before you commit and make sure you are really happy. Again forget about the €special offers€. They will be glad to accept your money anytime should you later decide to pursue. It is good to discuss proposals and events with others for example on blogs, forums etc to get feedback from a number of experienced angles before committing. There are really helpful people in blogs and forums-learn from them.
