How to Keep Spiders Out of Your Garage
- 1). Turn off any outside lights near your garage, which attract insects that spiders eat.
- 2). Seal up cracks and gaps in the windows and doors. Look near the foundation as well.
- 3). Keep an organized garage and clean it often. Spiders prefer dusty areas. Ensure you clean the ceiling and corners. Also, remove the spider webs when you see them. Check weekly. A vacuum works well, as does a broom with a dryer sheet attached to the end to clean hard-to-reach areas.
- 4). Use plastic containers to store possessions rather than cardboard boxes which spiders can find a safe place to hide in. If you use cardboard, seal the seams well with packing tape. Also, keep boxes off the floor and away from the walls, if possible.
- 5). Clean up the outside near your garage. Overgrown bushes, piles of leaves, out-of-control weeds, wood piles and debris all provide shelter for spiders and make your garage more attractive to them.
