103 30
Have you noticed that your toenails are becoming thicker with yellowish discoloration? If you are starting to observe these changes in your toenails, you may be suffering from toenail fungus.
This condition is one of the most common toenail infections.
If left untreated and no precautionary measures are done, the problem can progress and get worse.
Thick toenail fungus can be treated by a dermatologist or General Practitioner.
However, you must also practice proper foot hygiene all the time to speed up the healing.
Having toenail fungus can be disturbing for most people.
Aside from the fact that they are unsightly, having this condition can also be embarrassing.
The best approach is to initiate treatment immediately.
You can either see a doctor and ask for medical advice or start with a homemade remedy.
There are some who strongly believe that vinegar is a good antiseptic for thick toenail fungus.
All you have to do is to soak your infected toenails in the solution for 20-30 minutes twice or thrice a day.
Other solutions you can use as foot are Listerine mouthwash and hydrogen peroxide.
There are some people who claim that direct application of Vicks VapoRub also helps in stopping fungal growth.
Keeping your feet clean and dry all the time is important.
If you must wear shoes at work, make sure that you are wearing shoes and socks that allow proper foot ventilation.
This may require you to spend for specialized footwear that will allow your feet to "breathe".
Never wear used socks again.
Remember to clean and completely dry your shoes especially the foot bed.
Keep your feet exposed whenever you are at home.
It is not a good idea to wrap them unless the treatment requires you to do so.
Keep in mind that there are various forms of treatment that work for thick toenail fungus.
Treatment takes time so it is important that you do not get tired of it if you want to completely get rid of the problem.
