Formal Maternity Wear Hints and Tips - Swapping Maternity Clothes Can Be The Answer

103 28
Sharing maternity clothes has never been so easy.
There used to be a lot of commotion surrounding it - people thought that maternity wear, once worn, were "dirty" and should only be used by the person who bought them.
Well what a load of rubbish, I say.
Maternity wear is no different from everyday clothes, and as long as they're washed, there's no reason why they can't be shared.
It is often family tradition to pass down maternity outfits.
Mothers may give their daughters the maternity clothes that they wore many years ago to ease the stress of buying clothes for pregnancy.
Alternatively, mothers could also give their old maternity outfits to their sons to give to their pregnant partners.
In some respects, these clothes often become like family heirlooms.
They represent the female side of the family, essentially.
But let's face it, this wont always work.
The clothes our mothers wore when they were pregnant are bound to be a bit old-fashioned and out of date by now, and while it's a nice gesture, many women might not want to wear them.
That's where the internet comes in handy.
There are plenty of sites and forums for mothers all over the world as well as prospective mothers to come together and discuss, share and swap clothes for pregnancy.
It's a pretty good invention, as it means mothers can rid themselves of some clothes cluttering up the house, while moms-to-be gain some quality items that could save them a lot of time and money.
The great thing about these sites and forums also is that you can make plenty of friends through them.
It's an added bonus of maternity clothes swapping that could be of great use to you throughout your pregnancy.
Alternatively, if you're done with your maternity wear and don't have the time to sit on the internet, you could donate your old clothes to a local woman's shelter.
These women are often suffering in extreme poverty and can't afford to look after themselves most of the time, never mind the innocent child inside them, so a donation of a few clothes that may mean nothing to you, may mean the world to a woman in shelter.
While many woman like the keep a hold of their maternity clothes as a keepsake or to pass down to their children, a lot of families just want to get rid of them as they're cluttering up the house or making a mess or taking up space.
Always bear in mind that there are pregnant women out there who could now use your help.
If you received that help, why not give help back? And if you didn't receive it, don't you wish you had? So be a good Samaritan for the day and recycle all those old clothes!
