106 12
Hooray for spring! You're so ready for sandals, skirts, and playing outside again, but is your skin? You may need to reacquaint yourself with moisturizing, exfoliating, and other healthy skin tips to undo the damage from the winter's bitter cold.

1. Lingering dry winter skin

Did you slack off on the moisturizing during the winter months? Now that spring is here, it's hard to cover up the dry skin patches still lingering from the bitter cold. You may need to start taking lukewarm showers since steaming hot water can suck out your skin's moisture. Also, instead of just cream based lotions, you may need some oil products to really bring your skin back to life

2. Time to exfoliate

Like a snake, it's time to shed a layer of skin (sort of). Exfoliating will get rid of the excess dead skin cells, which will unclog pores, create a more even skin tone, and prep your skin for moisturizer. Depending on your skin type, you may need to try a few different exfoliation methods. Check out the do's and don'ts before you start scrubbing.

3. Revealing your feet

Open toed shoes are back! But since you're feet have been hiding in layers of socks and snow boots, you probably need to pay them extra attention. First, soak your feet in a homemade solution and scrub away the dry skin on your heels (check out the steps here). And of course, learn how to give yourself a pedicure!

4. Silky smooth legs

5. ...and underams

You can follow the same guidelines as shaving your legs for your underarms or you can try these other methods:

1.  Laser or IPL Hair Removal
2.  Depilatories (hair removal creams)

These methods cost slightly more than just a razor, but if you're annoyed by a "5 o'clock shadow" in the pits, then you can gives these a shot.

6. Protect yourself from the sun

We know all you want to do is be outside and soak in the sun, just make sure you're properly protected. Body and face lotions with SPF might be the smartest thing the beauty industry has ever created, so take advantage of these products. Just remember to reapply if you're spending the day outside!

7. But if you do get sunburn...

It's not fun, but it happens. If you need relief from a sunburn, try these home remedies like aloe vera, hydrotherapy, and vinegar compresses. Some sunburns can be very serious. If you see blisters, then it's time to seek medical attention.

8. Fake a tan instead

Let's all try to cool it on the obsession with a deep bronzed tan, it's dangerous! Plus, there are so many safer ways to fake tan. If you're willing to spend some money, you can let the professionals give you a spray tan. Or you can use these at-home self-tan products. Be sure to prep your skin properly if you are going the DIY route. If your tan appears streaky, here's how to fix it.

9. Springtime makeup tricks

Spring means it's time to revamp your makeup look, too. Skin illuminators work wonders to give your face a natural healthy glow, plus you may want to use a little bronzer for an instant sun-kissed look.

10. Sweat and acne

With all this fun in the sun you may start to sweat... errr... glisten. If you tend to breakout under these conditions, you use body and face wash with salicylic acid. Here are additional tips for defending against breakouts.
