How to Fill the Windshield Washer Fluid in a Pontiac Grand Am

    • 1). Park your Grand Am on a flat surface and shift it into "Park."

    • 2). Engage the car's parking brake and draw the keys out of the ignition.

    • 3). Engage the hood release latch below the instrument panel, and then exit the car.

    • 4). Pull up on the auxiliary release latch beneath the center of the hood.

    • 5). Raise your Grand Am's hood, and then lift the prop rod out of its restraining clip and secure it to the bottom side of the hood.

    • 6). Look for the windshield washer fluid reservoir to the right of the battery in the bottom right corner of the engine compartment. On Grand Am models made before 1998, the reservoir sits just to the left of the battery.

    • 7). Unsnap the black reservoir cap, place a funnel in the opening and fill the reservoir with fluid.

    • 8). Remove the funnel, refasten the reservoir cap and firmly close the hood.
