How to Change a Rear Bearing in a GE Profile Dryer DPXQ473GT3WW
- 1). Disconnect the dryer power cord.
- 2). Slide the putty knife blade along the seam between the front and top panel. Press the knife into the 2 internal clips to disengage them.
- 3). Lift the top panel up and back to rest on the wall behind the GE dryer.
- 4). Remove the screws holding the top of the front panel in place. Unplug the door switch electrical connector from its socket. Set the front panel aside.
- 5). Push the idler pulley arm toward the back of the dryer to loosen the belt. Remove the belt from the pulleys and drum.
- 6). Lift the drum out through the front of the DPXQ473GT3WW cabinet.
- 7). Remove the screws holding the heating element cover to the rear of the cabinet. Lift the heating element cover out of the way.
- 8). Remove the screws securing the rear bearing to the GE dryer. Remove the bearing kit.
- 9). Insert the new rear bearing assembly into the dryer cabinet. Install the screws to hold it in place.

Reverse the disassembly steps to put the GE Profile dryer back together.
