    User is not Able to Install the Adapter on Windows 2000

    • Reason: The driver might be blocked for installation

      Symptoms: The driver will not show in the Device Manager as installed.

      Remedy: User must install the Adaptor driver software from Device Manager Control Panel. User should right click on "My Computer" and must click on "Properties." User should click on the "Hardware" tab and click on "Driver Signing". User must check the radio button for "Ignore" and uncheck "Block". After clicking OK, click on "Device Manager", highlight the top item, select "Action" and click on "Scan for Hardware changes". Re-install the driver on the Windows 2000 version.

    Adapter Card is not Detected

    • Reason: Operating system needs system updates or does not feature plug-and-play feature. PCI slot or extension cables might be faulty. Operating system does not support the driver.

      Symptoms: LED light is turned off for the adapter. User is not able to access "Found New Hardware" Wizard for installation.

      Remedy: It is important to check the system configuration is compatible with the adapter. The latest driver version must be downloaded and installed to rectify the issue. Plug the Adapter card in another USB slot and replace the cables. Check the Adapter on another computer to verify if it is working properly. User also can check another device on USB slot to verify if the ports on the system are working fine. Finally, restart the system and check again.

    Device Manager Error Code 10

    • Reason: The Adaptor is not plugged in properly. The driver version is not compatible or wrong. System is issuing IRQ conflict to block driver installation.

      Symptoms: Driver is not installed or not functioning after installation.

      Remedy: Uninstall the driver from the "Device Manager" section by highlighting the NetGear GA511, right click on it and click on "Uninstall". Remove the card and restart the system and start the installation process. Download the latest driver version from the Internet to confirm installation.

    Computer is not Responding When Card is Removed From the Slot

    • Reason: Driver is not stopped from the operating system.

      Symptoms: Windows is not responding to any keyboard or mouse commands

      Remedy: It is important to stop the working of the card from the operating system before physical removal. Double click the card icon on the task bar at Desktop. Click the card and click "Stop". Finally, click "OK" and remove the card.
