How to Use Epsom Salt for Plants
- 1). Sprinkle 1 cup of Epson salt per 100 square feed of garden and mix it into the soil before planting.
- 2). Apply 1 tablespoon per foot of plant height to the soil around roses and tomatoes every two weeks.
- 3). Apply 1 tablespoon---diluted in water---per 9 square feet over the root zone of shrubs every two to four weeks.
- 4). Use 2 tablespoons of Epson salt with water for each 9 square feet of the root zone of trees three times a year.
- 5). Apply 3 pounds for every 1,250 square feet of lawn. Use a spreader or dilute the Epsom salt in water and apply the solution with a sprayer.
- 6). Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Epson salt in a gallon of water. Use the solution as a foliar spray for peppers at bloom time. Apply a solution of the same strength again 10 days later.
