How to Advertise on a Tin Sign
- 1). Create a graphic design. Work with a graphic designer or create an advertising design independently. Most professional graphic designers work with the PhotoShop computer design program for the Microsoft Windows operating system, or TurboCAD 16 on a MacIntosh computer.
- 2). Save the advertising design as a computer file in a PDF format.
- 3). Send the advertising PDF file to a local sign maker. Find a local sign maker with a quick Internet search. Work with the sign maker on dimensions, designs and any other needs such as hanging brackets or nail holes.
- 4). Give the sign maker the requested dimensions of the tin sign. Tin size dimensions range from small plaques to signs that can span several yards. Work with the sign maker to decide which size works for the needed advertising campaign and have the sign maker print up the tin sign.
- 5). Place the advertising tin sign in the intended location. Make sure that the sign's placement conforms to local regulations and ordinances. The local municipality's zoning regulations will spell out the laws for placing signs in the locality. Many localities charge a fee to put up a sign. Pay the fee, if necessary.
