Do you find it hard matching presents to people? It gets harder every year I find.I struggle every year to get it right. I am sure most people are either very good at this or last minute shoppers. The last minute shoppers will give a generic present of chocolates, booze or maybe bath or perfume products. They don't take the time to think about it and grab anything with no thought for the receiver. I have received booze and I don't drink. Bath sets are a good example as well and though I do like a bath I don't add bubbles to them. Giving gifts like this is great for me as I can pass to someone else which sounds ungrateful I know but why give me something that is of no use to me.

I actually spend most of the year listening to what people mention and later in the year making sure they have not bought them. Then if I get them that gift they know that I have paid attention to them. My grandchildren are amazed that I always manage to get something for them that they really have wanted for awhile. Last year one of my grandsons wanted gloves in fluorescent colours and hair gel. He was over the moon as I got him twelve gels and six gloves in assorted colours. That shows I listened doesn't it?

As I have five adult children this year when I listened I knew it was going to cost me a lot as they all wanted the same thing for their homes. Two sons live with me the other three have their own homes so when I bought myself a new product on the market which was a Waste King Food disposal unit mainly they all wanted one. I got it because I had seen so many American television shows and they all have them plus I am into recycling. This product recycles all the food waste and it then goes out through the drain instead of a black sack. My eldest son and two daughters thought it was brilliant so I found the ideal present for them. Once they saw mine they all started to drop extremely large hints but did say they didn't expect me to get them one each. That was what they all wanted one so I managed to get one a month so there is no last minute panic. Some people think I am being over indulgent but rather than get small rubbish things no one really wants or needs I went for it big style this year.

To me is a new concept in space saving as well as an unusually cool idea for a present. My point is I listen to people. Anyone can get a present but for it to be wanted or meaningful is another thing. If you care about someone why not put some thought into their gift which doesn't have to be huge. It just takes a bit of effort but is worth it when you see their face. It really is a pleasure to bring joy to people you care about.
