How to Decorate a Wall With Crosses

    • 1). Collect a variety of crosses in many sizes and made out of different materials. The more styles of crosses you have, the more interesting your display will be.

    • 2). Lay out a sheet of brown craft paper on a table that's equal in measure to the wall space you want to hang your crosses on. Use old brown grocery bags taped together or purchase some brown craft paper from your local hobby shop.

    • 3). Gather all your crosses together and lay out in a collage-style, nonlinear design on the brown paper. Mix styles and materials of the crosses, taking care not to put two crosses that are too much alike together.

    • 4). Move the crosses around on the paper until you find a grouping you like. You may want to start with a larger cross in the center, then radiate smaller crosses from the center point to develop your grouping.

    • 5). Trace the crosses and write in a description of each cross in the silhouette. This will help you remember your grouping design.

    • 6). Tape the brown paper to the wall that you want to hang the crosses on. Use painter's blue tape or transparent tape to ensure you don't remove paint from your walls when you remove the paper.

    • 7). Hammer nails right through the brown paper near the top of each silhouette where the cross hangers are. Refer to the actual cross to determine where the hanger is.

    • 8). Carefully remove the brown paper, leaving the nails in place on the wall. Lay the paper down on the floor near the wall as a reference.

    • 9). Hang crosses in their designated spots by referring to the brown paper layout. Adjust nail placement if necessary by carefully removing the nail and rehanging.
