106 31

About Coors Field:

Coors Field baseball stadium opened in 1995, adding a venue for baseball to the Mile High City. Home base for the Colorado Rockies, the stadium seats 50,455 fans. The Rockies, part of the National League, are one of the youngest teams in Major League Baseball. Until the Rockies made it to the World Series in 2007, most games did not sell out, with the exception of the popular July 4th game with fireworks.

In 2014, Coors Field added the Rockies Rooftop in the upper right field. The rooftop deck does not have reserved seating, but features restaurants and bars. Tickets for the Rockies Rooftop are $14, and include $6 in concession credit.

Location:

Coors Field, located at 20th and Blake streets, anchors Denver's LoDo (Lower Downtown) district. Coors Field is easily accessible from I-25 or Speer Blvd. Coors Field is also a short walk from Union Station, which is the last stop for Line C of the Light Rail. Many bars and restaurants are located near Coors Field for a pre-game meal or a post-game celebration.

    Facilities:

      Parking:

Parking is available for $14 and up at Coors Field in 2014. Area parking lots downtown also charge varying rates for parking during the game. Don't be tempted by the street parking meters, which max out at two hours. Parking personnel come out in full force during game days, and you are virtually guaranteed to get a parking ticket.

      Tours of Coors Field:

Tours of Coors Field are offered Mon. - Sat. during baseball season (April - Sept.), as well as Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat. during the offseason (Oct. - March.) Other Important Info:
      • For baseball fans on a budget, Rockpile tickets are available for $4. There is a limit of four tickets per person per game.
      • Baseballs go further at high altitude because the air is thinner. A baseball will travel 9 percent farther at 5,280 feet than at sea level.
      • Look for the purple row of seats in the 20th row of the upper deck. The purple row marks 5,280 feet of elevation, otherwise known as a mile above sea level.
