Also there are no obvious symptoms that you can anticipate of the thinning bones. Let us discuss about the warning signs of Osteoporosis so as to try to keep it at bay.
Bone density test:
Bone density test is called DXA scan, Doctors suggest that if one has had 1-2 fractures in the past then one should get tested with DXA scan that measures the amount of calcium and many other minerals which play an important role in the strengthening of bones. If it is found that the body lacks in such minerals then there are chances of getting fracture in coming few years too as the body is not able to sustain the injuries.
Naturally thin body:
People who are lean have small and thin bones this is why they are more likely to lose bones in their younger years. When we are in the age 20 – 25 then we almost reach the maximum bone mass and 30-40 our bones start becoming weaker. On the other side thinning of bones depends upon the factors which keep the bones strong like our diet, exercise. So what you can do is have bone healthy diet like mineral and calcium rich diet and do regular exercise to sustain the more likely fractures in your older years.
Quit Smoking:
You know that smoking is destroying your lungs but very less people know that smoking is making your bones fragile. Smoking frames your life with high chances of developing osteoporosis.

Alcohol weakens your bones. It makes your body lack in minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Women who drink alcohol are more likely to lose bones than men. So try to cut down the consumption of alcohol. Start drinking herbal tea like green tea or lemon tea. Have one glass of milk with honey at night.
Drink Milk:
Milk is a real bone builder. It is rich in calcium. Vitamin D in fortified milk is very important. Vitamin D deficiency in body causes not only weak bones but also several types of cancers. You can also look for soy milk that is fortified with the nutrients essential for strong bones.
