The intricacies in life sometimes bring perplexity to the connotation.
Then if you ask someone what is the true meaning of Christmas, they would probably stumble over their explanations; yet, we hear 'Merry Christmas" resound all over the world by millions.
Here are two clarifications to ponder on.
Firstly, the word "Christmas" occurs nowhere in the Bible.
It is an old English word that means "Christ's Mass" which refers to the celebration of the Lord's Supper.
The earliest occurrence of the word on record is 1038 A.
D.
Christians at this time considered the Mass (Lord's Supper) to be the most important part of the celebration of Christ's birth; therefore, it came to be called Christmas.
Secondly, it is a Christian holiday that is celebrated on December 25 in honor of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Whatever you choose to believe just consider one thing.
We know when this time of the year occurs the world is filled with love, peace and happiness.
Your heart and soul thirst to do better by others, and this feeling mostly transpires this time of the year.
Deep down inside you cannot explain it or want accept it; nevertheless, you yearn for it more and more.
When you see the decorations, lights, hear the music, sharing gifts and together with family and friends, you crave to be a part of every moment in some form or fashion.
You hope that it would last forever.
The words and phrases that you hear or receive in Christmas cards give you comfort and peace of mind.
However, when the decorations and lights or taken down, your heart sinks.
Why stop the celebration? Why not continue throughout the year? Well we can carry on the celebration by letting our light shine from within.
Let us be the witness to the light and illuminate the world with truth, justice, love, and a forever burning candle of the spirit of Christmas in our hearts.
The message is obvious and true.
This is a season with precious reasons, silent nights and holy nights, to share our blessings and rejoice and sing.
