How to Troubleshoot a GE Coffee Maker
- 1). Remove the filter basket it and reinsert it properly. If the basket is not inserted correctly, it will leak.
- 2). Clean the filter basket with a damp cloth to remove any coffee grounds on the edge of the filter.
- 3). Use coffee that is not finely ground. Coffee that is ground too fine can clog the filter.
- 4). Place the carafe on the warming plate within 30 seconds if using the drip stop valve function. When the carafe is removed when using the drip stop valve function, water continues to enter the filter basket and will overflow after 30 seconds.
- 1). Fill the water reservoir to the appropriate fill line.
- 2). Clean the water intake beneath the filter holder with a damp cloth to remove clogs.
- 3). Remove the filter and discard old coffee grounds. Use coffee that is not finely ground. Finely ground coffee or coffee that is tightly packed can block the filter.
- 1). Set the time on the coffee maker if "Er1" appears on the display. This error indicates that the selected program function cannot be used unless the clock is set.
- 2). Reprogram the coffee maker and press the "prog" button if "Er2" is displayed. This error is displayed if the auto button is pressed before a program is set.
- 3). Allow the coffee maker to finish brewing before pressing the "TSB" button. "Er3" will occur on the display if the "TSB" button is pressed before brewing completes.
- 4). Reset the coffee maker if "Er4" is displayed. Unplug the appliance for 30 seconds and plug it back in. If the error reappears, it may be damaged. Call for service.
- 5). Press the power button to restart the coffee maker if "Er5" appears on the display. Brewing was started during a warming cycle.
