These days everybody seems to want a "six pack".
Men and women both look better with a trim and nicely muscled waistline but in our busy modern life the six-pack abs look might seem hard to achieve.
Well, it doesn't have to be! Here are 3 things you must do to achieve a washboard stomach.
It doesn't matter if you're male or female - if you don't do these 3 things then you simply won't get the stomach you want.

Tone your stomach muscles.
Most of us today lead a sedentary life compared to our ancestors.
The human body was built to be moved and not to just sit at a desk all day.
Years of sedentary living can take their toll on our bodies and cause loss of muscle tone.
Lack of muscle tone in your abdominal muscles is unsightly as well as unhealthy.
To counteract this we need to exercise.
So the first thing you need to do is tone your abdominal muscles with exercise.

Reduce body fat.
Although specific abdominal exercises can tone your abs and even build shape and size - you won't get that six pack look you're after if there's a thick layer of flab covering them! You need to reduce your body fat to a healthy level so your toned abs can show through the layer of fat beneath the skin.
The best way to reduce your body fat is through a combination of diet and exercise.
It's important to note that we all need some body fat - just not too much.
The way your waistline looks is actually a very good indicator of whether you're carrying too much body fat or not.

Have proper posture.
Lastly, once you've toned your abdominals and reduced your body fat you need to have good posture to show the results of your efforts.
If you slump and slouch then even though your abs are toned and your waistline is lean you won't look good.
I'm not saying you should go around flexing your abs or sucking your stomach in all day, just stand nice and tall with your shoulders back and your stomach should naturally flatten.
There's a lot of misleading information about how to go about toning your abs and reducing body fat - both of which are essential if you want a six pack.
