Women Need to Educate Themselves on the Many Health Benefits of Strength Training

103 7
Many women spend a great deal of their exercise time doing low intensity activities that get them little return on their investment of time and effort.
They end up simply 'spinning their wheels' often being stuck at the same body weight with little or no positive improvement in lowered body fat levels or strength and fitness goals.
Yet, if they put just 2-3 short intense sessions of strength training exercise in place of some of the low intensity 'cardio' time they could break through plateaus, get closer to their goals and reap a wealth of health and anti-aging benefits.
It is a shame that less than 20 percent of women perform strength training exercise.
Yet the number one bio-marker of the aging process is loss of muscle tissue which happens to them at the rate of one half pound per year unless they are working to keep it.
This loss of muscle tissue weakens the entire body dragging health down over so slowly over a long period of time they hardly notice it.
But they will..
...
So many women are still either uneducated about the amazing benefits of strength training and/or are afraid they will 'get bigger' or 'bulk up'.
Yet these same women are often a lot bigger and heavier than they should be with excess body fat stacked up.
Women who do perform strength training exercise are usually smaller, tighter, leaner and shapelier than those who do 'cardio' activity only.
Some of the many benefits of strength training are: •Prevents and can reverse muscle tissue loss (sarcopenia) •Increases metabolic rate (the rate your body burns fuel) so more calories are burned both day and night.
Something no other activity will do.
•Reduces intra-abdominal fat which is hidden deep inside the abdomen setting women up for nasty diseases •Lowers overall risk of major diseases like heart disease, cancer and diabetes •Strengthens bones •Slows the aging process by strengthening the entire body and all of its systems and processes including the immune system •Stimulates 'growth and repair' hormones that are not simulated with low intensity activity renewing and replacing old worn out cells and tissues •Reduces blood pressure, blood fats and glucose levels These are only a few of the numerous benefits and reasons why every single woman should be incorporating muscle building and maintaining activity into their exercise sessions.
But somehow benefits such as disease prevention and improving overall health and a leaner stronger body are not usually the driving force behind positive change.
Women are so hung up on their weight on the bathroom scale that they have a hard job seeing beyond this.
Yet strength training is the fastest and most healthy way to lose body fat there is.
In fact it is the only way.
Old habits die hard but it is time to chuck out the old ineffective ways that we have been hanging on to for years (maybe decades) and in with new better ways.
Strength training will get you exactly what every woman wants.
A strong, lean, firm healthy body with tons of built in disease protection and longevity so our health span matches our life span.
It does not get any better than that.
