Renowned author Haruki Murakami opened a temporary website called "Murakami-san no Tokoro (Mr. Murakami's Place)". The website is part advice column, part author Q&A. Murakami told readers they could ask about any subject. As the author rarely talks to the media, his fans were very excited about an opportunity to interact with him. Although it was already closed, more than 37,000 email came in within two weeks.


Topics range from the serious to the absurd. Some asked about Murakami's books, others sought relationship advice.

Romaji Translation

Saikin no tsuukin densha no tanoshimi wa, sumaatofon de "Murakami-san no Tokoro" to iu saito o yomu koto da.

Sakka no Murakami Haruki-san ga dokusha to kouryuu suru kikan gentei no mono. Dokusha kara meeru de shitsumon ya soudan, sukina basho ya neko ni tsuite no bunshou o okuri, Murakami-san ga sore ni kotaeru.

Sudeni toukou wa shimekirareta ga, ichigatsu kousan no yaku nishuukan de sanman nanasen tsuu ijou no meeru ga kita. Naka niwa kaigai kara no eigo ni yoru toukou mo aru. Murakami-san no komento wa imademo, koushin sare tsuzukete iru.
